We had some requests from friends and family during the 2015 season to come watch the goats kid. As much as we wanted to allow people in, this wasn't an easy request to honor. Our kidding barn's aisle isn't that big and we wouldn't feel comfortable having guests around if there was and emergency. So this year we came up with, what we think, is a great answer and opportunity for those who want to be there with us and the does!
These are all the girls we've bred, so far. Most of them I'm waiting to see if they cycle back.
For Sure Bred-
Olive was already ultra sounded with 3.
Phoenix Farm Counting Stars x Phoenix Farm One Knight Stand
Bred once, pulled a 5 day heat, bred again, and hopefully she won't come back in again!
Phoenix Farm Joy x Phoenix Farm Ida Defiant One
Also, bred once, pulled a 5 day heat, bred again, and hopefully she won't come back in again!
SGCH Eastwind Farm Dorcas x Phoenix Farm One Night Stand
Bred, hasn't come back in. Still waiting though to see if she does come back in heat.
And that's it so far! Hopefully some of the people I just bred are pregnant and we'll have some senior kids to show next year!
First doe of the year bred, and I'm so excited! Olive is bred to Avolino Farm TWK Bail Jumper [(2 x GCH)(2 x BOB)]. We did an ultra sound a couple weeks back, before I started the blog, and saw 3 healthy kids moving around. If everything goes as expected, Olive's 145 will be December 19th. We're hoping she doesn't go to far over, although I don't think she could hold out till Christmas. Am I Jinxing myself saying that?
My name is Cassandra Wheeles and I oversee the breeding program here at Doodle Acres. I do most of the hard work of figuring out the best pairings and then getting everyone that's ready bred, but I get a lot of help from my mother and co owner Astrud. We're both working really hard again this year to ensure another successful season!
